Actions: President Loh and Senate Chair Goodman charged the task force on October 10, 2016.

In fall 2016, the task force reviewed current programs and sexual assault prevention efforts in place at UMD; considered data on high-risk behaviors and the results of the 2016 sexual assault climate survey; conducted peer institution interviews; and reviewed relevant federal guidance on sexual assault prevention efforts on college campuses. The task force also held a campus-wide open forum on November 17, 2016 in the Stamp Student Union to collect initial input from campus community members. In January 2017, the task force formed subcommittees on programming and communications to further develop their recommendations. Over the course of the Spring 2017 semester, the task force met with the Graduate Student Government and various campus offices that would be affected by the recommendations. The task force voted to forward its recommendations to the SEC on March 30, 2017.
