Senate Bill 13-14-26

Bill ID: 13-14-26
Name: Code of Academic Integrity Changes
Proposed: 02/11/2014
Sponsor: Andrea Goodwin, Kevin Pitt, and Noah Niederhoffer
Proposal: The Code of Academic Integrity last saw significant amendments in the early 1990's. Since then there have been significant changes to the student population, and significant increases in the amount of academic integrity violations the Office of Student Conduct (OSC) has managed. To better serve both students who are referred for allegedly violating the Code of Academic Integrity and faculty/students who refer allegations of academic integrity, we are recommending a number of policy changes that will update the Code of Academic Integrity. With these changes, the OSC expects to better manage the current needs of an increasing case load and to make the adjudication process more efficient for our stakeholders.
