Underrepresented and Diverse Faculty Hiring

In June 2016, the Joint Provost/Senate Underrepresented and Diverse Faculty Hiring Task Force was charged with reviewing two distinct initiatives designed to accelerate diversity among 1) tenured faculty and 2) postdoctoral fellows and developing guidelines for their implementation. These initiatives were developed collaboratively by ADVANCE, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the Office of Faculty Affairs as part of the University’s overall plan to increase the hiring, retention, and advancement of women and ethnic minority faculty who have been traditionally underrepresented in the University. The Task Force approved its final recommendations on September 22, 2016.
