About This Council

The Council of University System Faculty (CUSF) advises the Chancellor and reports regularly to the Board of Regents. It is responsible for considering and making recommendations on matters of System-wide professional and educational concern to the faculty and matters to which faculty bring special expertise. 

The University of Maryland, College Park has six Faculty delegates that are elected by the Senate. Meetings take place approximately once per month and the location rotates among the University System of Maryland (USM) campuses, all of which have representation on CUSF.  Additional information about CUSF can be found on the main CUSF website. 

Elections for the Senate-elected seats are typically conducted at the Annual Transition Meeting of the Senate in early May. If you are a Faculty member interested in running for a position on CUSF, please contact the Senate Office at senate-admin@umd.edu for more information.
