Decision: The Senate Office divided the charge into two separate proposals.
Actions: In order to facilitate the review of revisions to the Interim University of Maryland Non-Discrimination Policy and Procedures and the Interim University of Maryland Disability & Accessibility Policy & Procedures, in March 2016, the Senate Office recommended that the original charge to the EDI Committee be separated into two charges with one charge related to each policy. The Senate Office advised that separated charges would allow the committee to focus on each policy separately, and would prevent revisions to one policy from adversely affecting the approval of revisions to the other policy. The Senate Leadership approved separating the two charges. New charges were drafted and submitted to the EDI Committee for consideration (Senate Document # 15-16-28 and Senate Document #15-16-29).
