Decision: The Campus Affairs Committee voted to send their recommendations to the SEC for review.
Actions: Since receiving the charge the committee has met twice in full session, September 30 and October 20, 2009. At the first meeting it was decided that a subcommittee should be selected to expedite the process of gathering information about the Wooded Hillock issue. The subcommittee was asked to meet with Ann Wylie, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Frank Brewer, Assistant Vice President for Facilities Management to gather more information about the administration's actions in the selection process. Members of the subcommittee were Ed Walters, Chair, Deborah Nelson, Gerald Brust, and students Elliott Morris and Robert Hayes. After meeting with Wylie and Brewer the subcommittee reported back to the full committee at the next meeting on October 20, 2009.
The documents reviewed by the Campus Affairs Committee included but were not limited to: East Campus Redevelopment Project Sustainability Perspectives, Executive Summary of Master Plan, Climate Action Plan, Faculty and Student Request to University Senate (prepared by Professor Marla McIntosh), Final East Campus Relocation Report to Senate, SGA Perspectives on Wooded Hillock, and Development Of Wooded Hillock - Student Recommendations. The committee also read many letters from faculty, students and staff in opposition to the relocation selection.
