Actions: After the proposal was returned to APAS, Chair Moses requested that the committee continue to research the issue in the 2009-2010 school year, by including it in the 2008-2009 APAS Annual Report.

On October 19, 2009, representatives of the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost and the Office of Undergraduate Studies met with the Chair of the APAS Committee to draft language for the proposed policy changes.

On October 21, 2009, the committee discussed the drafted language and voted to recommend changes to the policy. The resulting vote was 14 members in favor, 0 members opposed, and 1 abstention.

The proposed changes were vetted through the President's Legal Office.

Actions: The SEC initially voted to place the report of the APAS Committee on the Senate agenda for the April 23, 2009 Senate meeting. The 30-Credit Hour Rule was not considered at the April 23, 2009 meeting because the Senate ran out of time.

In the meantime, the SEC received four amendments from the Dean for Undergraduate Studies Donna Hamilton on April 24th, 2009.

On April 27, 2009, the SEC reviewed the amendments and discussed whether to endorse them. Ultimately the SEC decided to return the proposal to the APAS Committee to review the amendments and the additional issues raised by the SEC.
