Proposal: In 2020, the College of Arts and Humanities’ Department of Women’s Studies was renamed the Harriet Tubman Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. In the spring of 2021, the undergraduate major and upper-division certificate program titles in Women’s Studies were also changed to Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. This proposal is to rename the Ph.D. in “Women’s Studies” to “Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.” The proposal will align the program with the department and undergraduate program names, and also reflect the current scope of the Ph.D. program.
