| Proposal: | The Joint Program in Survey Methodology (JPSM) within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences proposes to rename its current post-baccalaureate certificate program in “Survey Statistics” to “Fundamentals of Survey Statistics.” The curriculum provides a comprehensive treatment of survey statistics at a fundamental level. The coursework focuses on key areas of survey statistics, including survey and data science, sampling, and inference from complex surveys. Students are also able to go into more depth in these areas through a variety of elective courses. The program title change also aligns with JPSM’s other certificate program, “Fundamentals of Survey Methodology.” “Fundamentals of Survey Statistics” is a more accurate title and will be more appealing to prospective students interested in an introductory graduate program in survey statistics. |
