Decision: The SEC voted to forward the request to the Campus Transportation Advisory Committee
Actions: The Senate Executive Committee (SEC) requests that the Campus
Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC) review pedestrian safety in front of
the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center (CSPAC). Specifically, we ask CTAC
to review the safety conditions of the three crosswalks that lead pedestrians from
the Campus Drive Parking Garage to CSPAC. This area is congested during the
day when students cross the street carrying their instruments, as well as during
the evening when guests/patrons of the Center are attending events. Because
we have such a variety of clientele on that thoroughfare, and in an effort to be
proactive before a tragedy occurs, we request that CTAC consider the possibility
of installing stop signs along the street to insure pedestrian safety
Next Step: CTAC Review
