Name: PCC Proposal to Establish a Post-Master's Certificate in the Curation and Management of Digital Assets
Proposed: 01/31/2014
Sponsor: PCC Committee
Proposal: The College of Information Studies (Maryland's iSchool) plans to offer a post-master's certificate on the curation and management of digital assets (CMDA). The CMDA certificate focuses on the creation, management and use; long-term preservation; and current and future access to digital assets in a variety of disciplines and sectors of the economy. It is a four-course, post-master's certificate designed for professionals who need training on using next-generation cloud computing technologies, tools, and resources that help them evaluate, select, and implement digital curation solutions. The certificate program will be fully online and will use a cohort model to foster virtual interaction among students. The proposed certificate is a self-funded, entrepreneurial program.
