The ERG Committee reviewed the charge and formed a subcommittee to begin working on the initial steps at its meeting on March 5, 2013. The subcommittee developed questionnaires to be sent to deans and vice presidents to learn more about the current practices of shared governance on campus. It discussed its questionnaires further with the committee in May 2013. The committee also met with a representative from IRPA at its meeting in April 2013 to discuss the possibility of a campus-wide survey, and decided to look into other ways to solicit feedback on shared governance instead.
The ERG Committee disseminated its questionnaires in August and September, 2013. On October 15th, November 8th, and December 6th, the committee reviewed the responses to the questionnaires and discussed trends found in responses. The committee discussed points of information it would like to present to the Senate Executive Committee in its report. In December 2013, the committee agreed to draft a report and consider amendments via email during January. The committee deliberated on information to send forward to the SEC in January 2013, and voted to forward its report. |
