Senate Bill 11-12-42

Bill ID: 11-12-42
Name: Improving Accountability and Transparency of the University Senate
Proposed: 04/25/2012
Sponsor: Student Government Association Executive Board
Proposal: Students recognize the importance of shared governance at the University of Maryland and the democratic process that provides for open and honest dialogue. However, we feel there is much room for improvement, particularly with regard to University Senate proceedings. This proposal is a short list of recommendations intended to increase transparency and accountability that can be easily incorporated into the existing system. If implemented, these will allow for students and the campus community as a whole to be more adequately informed of University Senate actions.
