Senate Bill 10-11-53

Bill ID: 10-11-53
PCC ID: 10049
Name: PCC Proposal to Move the Toxicology PhD Program from the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences to the School of Public Health
Proposed: 03/28/2011
Sponsor: PCC Committee
Proposal: Move the local administrative home of the Ph.D. program in Toxicology from the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences (CMNS) to the Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health (MIAEH) within the School of Public Health (SPHL). Toxicology is an inter-institutional program of the University System of Maryland, of which UMCP is one of five partners, with the University of Maryland Baltimore as the lead institution. As research thrusts of both the program and of UMCP faculty have shifted, the MIAEH is now a more natural home for students interested in pursuing doctoral research in this area.
