Victoria Fitzgerald
Victoria (Vicki) Fitzgerald (she/her/hers) serves as the Assistant Director of the University Senate at the University of Maryland (UMD), where she functions as a leader and advisor on institutional shared governance and university policy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McDaniel College and a Master of Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Higher Education at UMD, with aspirations to earn a PhD in the field.
Vicki brings extensive experience in program development, organizational leadership, and higher education policy implementation. Prior to joining the UMD, she held positions at JHU’s Krieger School of Arts and Sciences’ Office of Academic Advising and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s (RPI) Department of Computer Science. Since joining UMD in 2017, she has made significant contributions, including launching the undergraduate Neuroscience program in 2020 and driving strategic initiatives that support institutional excellence. Recognized for her impact, Vicki received the Thelma M. Williams Advisor of the Year Award from UMD’s College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences in 2023.
