Proposal: Current UMD Intellectual Property Policy states the Vice President for Research shall, in conjunction with the University Senate, appoint a University Intellectual Property Committee.

The Bylaws of the University Senate do not have this procedure stipulated. To align the Bylaws with the policy, the Elections, Representation, & Governance Committee should be charged with revising the Bylaws to include an official channel for Senate approval.
