Decision: Brown, Schrimpe, and Jackson will serve as the three full-time representatives and Lauer and Wimbish will serve as the two alternate representatives for the 2012-2014 years.
Actions: The Senate Office sent announcements to the campus community and all eligible staff members regarding the election period. Staff members who are eligible to run and vote for CUSS members include excluded exempt and non-exempt staff who are not in a collective bargaining unit and contingent II staff employees. The elected CUSS representatives would be given two-year-terms starting on August 1, 2012. At the January 31, 2012, meeting, two members of CUSS provided an overview of the responsibilities and benefits of serving on the council.

The candidacy period ran from February 8, 2012, to March 12, 2012. Six candidates submitted their names and candidacy statements for consideration. The elections took place via email between March 26, 2012, and April 6, 2012. Ballots returned to the Senate Office were counted and reported to the Staff Affairs Committee on April 16, 2012.

The top three vote-getters were Sister Maureen Schrimpe, Willie Brown, and Dolores Jackson. Larry Lauer and Dana Wimbish were elected to serve as alternate representatives.
